Emily Silich awarded prestigious Goldwater Scholarship

Emily Silich, a physics and astronomy major, has been awarded the Barry Goldwater Scholarship, the most prestigious undergraduate scholarship in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering in America. 

Spencer Wikert - Way beyond desktop support

The Iowa Robotic Observatory (IRO) telescope is about 1,500 miles from the University of Iowa campus, under the dark night skies of southern Arizona. In February 2020, Wikert joined a four-person team on a six-day trip to the IRO. His main goal: Upgrade the facility’s computers and make them easier to manage from a distance.

Stephanie Howard selected as one of the Outstanding Student Presentation Award Winners

Stephanie Howard, PhD., was selected as one of the Outstanding Student Presentation Award Winners at the American Geophysical Union meeting in December 2019. The Outstanding Student Presentation Awards (OSPAs) are awarded to promote, recognize and reward undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students for quality research in the geophysical sciences.
