Subnormality of the Helton-Howe Shift as an operator weighted shift

Edward White; University of Iowa

In this talk, we will first provide a way to construct operator weighted shifts from 2-variable weighted shifts and weighted shifts on directed trees. We will then show that the operator weighted shift constructed from the Helton-Howe shift is subnormal. Finally, we will construct a weighted shift on a directed tree from the Helton-Howe shift and show that both it and the above-mentioned operator weighted shift are subnormal.
