A Simple, Astronomically-Based Calculation of Global Warming Climate Sensitivity, Part II

Steven Spangler

Professor emeritus of Physics and Astronomy, University of Iowa

I will continue with a calculation to provide a rough quantitative estimate of the increase in global average temperature due to doubling of carbon dioxide. The essence of the calculation is a simple one using an astronomically-inspired way of estimating the way in which increased carbon dioxide impedes the flow of energy from the Earth's surface to space. The equations developed in the first part of the seminar will be used to come up with a number.
