Real-time computations of Quantum Field Theories

Erik Gustafson, Ph.D.; Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory

Lattice Field theory has provided the ability to precisely calculate many static quantities such as hadron masses and decay constants. However classical lattice field theory encounters sign problems when calculating dynamical quantities such as inelastic cross sections. I provide an overview of parallel methods for calculating time evolution using both classical lattice field theory-path integral and quantum computing methods.
