Sagar Chowdhury, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Scholar
Biography

Sagar's research interest is in the development of efficient quantum emitters and detectors, which includes material growth, device design, fabrication, and characterization. Currently, he is working with Prof. Prineas and Prof. Uppu, and his role involves epitaxial growth, lithography, and various optical measurement techniques.

In his Ph.D. [IIT Madras (India)], he worked on both the design and experimental aspects of diamond-based metasurfaces that will eventually be useful for single photon emitters and sensitive magnetometry. He also studied ultrafast light-matter interactions in diamond for efficient diamond structuring using femtosecond laser writing.

Research interest:

  • Single photon source and detector

  • Molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) growth

  • Electron beam lithography

  • Femtosecond laser machining

  • Confocal microscopy

  • Defects in diamond

Research areas
  • Quantum Photonics
