International Programs at the University of Iowa has awarded David Hartley,  assistant research scientist in Physics and Astronomy, a $1,200 travel grant to give a presentation on his research in Sapporo, Japan.

This award will help fund his travel to the 35th General Assembly and Scientific Symposium of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI GASS 2023) Aug. 19-26 in Sapporo, Japan.  At this conference, Hartley will present his research on quantifying the impact of sheath impedance effects on Van Allen Probes observations of the chorus wave electric field.  He will also help convene a scientific session titled, "H02: Wave-particle interactions and radiation belt dynamics."
