Portrait of Mary Hall Reno

Professor Mary Hall Reno has been awarded a NASA APRA grant for the project "Continued Development of nuSpaceSim: Modeling of the Extensive Air Shower Signals from Cosmic Neutrinos for Suborbital and Space-based Experiments." This award will support ongoing development of the nuPyProp and nuSpaceSim software tools used to model cosmic neutrino interactions and improve the detection capabilities of nuPyProp's Python-based code for faster performance, expanding simulations to include additional lepton particle signatures, and developing new software to evaluate and visualize sensitivity limits for poorly localized transient neutrino sources. The project will also produce new data resources for the scientific community and contribute to publications and presentations at leading international physics conferences. The work will be done in collaboration with Goddard Space Flight Center, Colorado School of Mines, the University of Utah, Penn State University, and Columbia University.
