Michael Flatté

Professor Michael Flatté has been granted a new award from Argonne National Laboratories' Department of Energy National Quantum Information Science Research Center "Q-NEXT: Interconnecting U.S. Quantum Science and Technology”. Prof. Flatté is one of 80 leading researchers supported by this award, and his project has received $482,000. Q-NEXT will focus on creating scalable quantum systems that can connect seamlessly, from tiny chips to entire cities. These advances will help power future quantum computers and sensors. The team will work on developing new materials, improving quantum chips, and refining algorithms to make quantum technology more practical and reliable. Prof. Flatté will collaborate with national labs, industry leaders like Intel, and other universities to achieve these goals. Ultimately, Q-NEXT 2 aims to lay the foundation for America’s next generation of quantum information systems.
