Five members of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) visited the Department of Physics and Astronomy on June 8, touring labs and facilities and learning about research programs.

After an overview discussion with Profs. Mary Hall Reno, Casey DeRoo, Allison Jaynes, Greg Howes and Ravi Uppu, the group toured Van Allen Observatory, the new spaceflight instrumentation lab areas on the 7th floor of Van Allen Hall, and the Testing Centers to see several pieces of spaceflight testing equipment. 

Next, they went to Iowa Advanced Technology Laboratories and toured Prof. Uppu's Quantum Light Control Lab and the MATFab Facility with MATFab director Tori Forbes.

Somanth Ghosh, Consul General of India in Chicago, joined the IRSO delegation.
