Astronomers have discovered 128 new moons around Saturn, making it the planet with the most moons with 274.
The International Astronomical Union announced the discovery, saying the new moons will be named from Nordic and other mythology.
University of Iowa Associate Professor of Physics & Astronomy Allison Jaynes said these findings are a good stepping stone to learn more about the Earth's moon and the entire solar system.
"We have been able to look more closely at Saturn and found that it has even more moons than we initially thought it did, which is just one of the amazing things about science, how it's always evolving," Jaynes said. "By looking at other planetary systems, we can get better understanding about how something like Earth's moon would have been created."
