Research Scientist/Engineer George Hospodarsky gave three space physics presentations to 65 7th-grade students and their teachers at a STEAM Institute on Dec 16 at the Kirkwood Community College Linn County Regional Center.

Hospodarsky talked about what space physicists do, how he became a space physicist, James Van Allen, a short history of space physics at the University of Iowa, Explorer 1, Juno, Cassini, Van Allen Probes, Mars Express, TRACERS, Voyager, VIPER, and other past and ongoing projects. The presentation also included a "Sounds In Space" exercise, and answering students' questions about space.
