Yannick Meurice

An additional year of funding in the amount of $737,298 has been awarded to the "Foundations of Quantum Computing for Gauge Theories and Quantum Gravity" grant by the Department of Energy.  Prof. Yannick Meurice is the principal investigator for the grant.

The goal of the project is to design the building blocks of universal quantum computers relevant to dynamical problems involving strong interactions and develop algorithms that scale reasonably with the size of the system. The research will take place by exploring individual models, starting with systems in low dimensions and moving up in dimension as we progress.

The total amount of funding for this grant has been $4,369,298 and involves other institutions: Boston University, UC Santa Barbara, Syracuse University and Michigan State University.
