Professor Fred Skiff will receive an Interdisciplinary Research Grant (IDRG) from the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies for his project, “Flame Sonification and Flame-based Audio Effect Processing.”

The $3,000 award is designed to provide teams time to focus intensely on a project at the Obermann Center for two or four weeks, usually in July and/or August.  The grants foster collaborative scholarship and creative work by offering recipients time and space to exchange new ideas leading to invention, creation, and publication. Applicants propose work on a project with colleagues from across the University, across disciplines within their own department, or with colleagues from other parts of the country or the world. Projects are intended to result in important scholarly or creative work.

This program is supported by the Office of the Vice President for Research and the Center’s C. Esco and Avalon L. Obermann Endowment Fund.
