Research Scientist/Engineer George Hospodarsky gave six presentations about space physics to 120 7th graders on Dec. 19 at the Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center in Hiawatha.
Hospodarsky discussed space physics at the University of Iowa and how he became a space physicist, also sharing the legacy of James Van Allen and the history of space physics at the UI. In addition to conducting a "Sounds In Space" exercise, Hospodarsky talked about Explorer 1, Juno, Cassini, the Van Allen Probes, Mars Express, TRACERS, Voyager, VIPER, and other past and ongoing projects, and answered their questions about space.
