Dr. Fatima Toor has been appointed Chair of the University of Iowa Research Council, a UI Charter Committee that meets regularly each semester to advise the Vice President for Research on matters pertaining to the University's research enterprise.
Toor is the Lowell G. Battershell Endowed Chair in Laser Engineering and Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Iowa. Dr. Toor also holds secondary appointments in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Iowa Technology Institute (formerly CCAD), the Iowa-CREATES and MATFab facility at the University of Iowa. She is also an associate member of the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center - Experimental Therapeutics program.
At the UI, her team's research involves the design, fabrication, and testing of innovative semiconductor optoelectronics devices for applications in the health, environment, and energy industries.
