Research Scientist/Engineer George Hospodarsky gave a presentation to 102 fifth graders and five teachers at Norway Intermediate School, Benton Community Schools in Norway, Iowa on May 13.
Hospodarsky talked about what space physicists do and how he became a space physicist, also sharing the legacy of James Van Allen and the history of space physics at the University of Iowa. He also discussed Explorer 1, Juno, Cassini, Van Allen Probes, Mars Express, TRACERS, Voyager, VIPER, and other past and ongoing projects, and answered their questions about space.
