The IEEE Magnetics Society has selected Professor Michael Flatté as a 2022 Distinguished Lecturer.
The Distinguished Lecturer program supports the presentation of ~20 invited lectures at conferences, institutions, and IEEE chapters over the course of a year. The topic of Flatté’s lecture is “Coherent Magnonics for Quantum Information Science.” This lecture introduces the fundamental requirements for practically linking quantum objects into large-scale coherent quantum systems as well as the advantages of coherent magnonics for next-generation quantum coherent systems (i.e., spin-entangling quantum gates).
The main aim of the IEEE Magnetics Society Distinguished Lecturer Program is to inspire and enthuse, especially young researchers, entering a career in magnetics. Distinguished Lecturers are selected based on excellence in the field of magnetics, both in research and for their important contributions in developing the applied/technical aspects of magnetics.
