Congratulations to Professor Fred Skiff on a new award from the Naval Research Laboratory entitled “Measurements of suprathermal electron distributions using whistler wave absorption.” The project is a collaboration with Jim Schroeder, Assistant Professor of Physics at Wheaton College, and Eric Tejero at NRL. Schroeder attended the University of Iowa for his Ph.D. studies, and for his dissertation, he performed experiments using UCLA’s Large Plasma Device (LAPD) studying the interaction of Alfven waves with electrons.
