Congratulations to Hasan Ogul for successfully defending his PhD dissertation on "Measurement of the Differential Cross Sections and Charge Asymmetry of Inclusive pp->W (μν) Production with 8 TeV CMS Data and CMS Single Muon Trigger Efficiency Study."

"Precision measurements of the W boson, such as the differential cross section and charge asymmetry, provide input for theoretical calculations which further our understanding of nature. These measurements of the production rate and angular distributions of the W boson were done using the proton-proton collision data produced by the CERN Large Hadron Collider and recorded by the Compact Muon Solenoid detector. Detailed study of the muon detection capabilities, including the trigger efficiency, of the CMS detector is an essential component of this analysis."
