Operators with compact imaginary part: A step further

In this talk, we will analyse the properties of the self-adjoint operators obtained through the Aronszajn and Smith procedure for quasitriangular operators to determine non-trivial closed invariant subspaces for bounded operators $T$ on infinite-dimensional, separable, complex Hilbert spaces with compact imaginary part $Im T$. We will address a question posed by Foias, Hamid, Onica and Pearcy regarding the assumption of $Im T$ being positive.
