Title: High-Frequency Decay of the Dynamic Structure Factor in a Strongly Coupled Dusty Plasma

Abstract: The dynamic structure factor (DSF) is widely used in experiments with scattering diagnostics for ionospheric and tokamak plasmas. It is also used in theories for strongly coupled plasmas, which assume a rapid decay of the DSF at high frequency. This assumption has been challenged by the results of a recent simulation paper by Choi et al. PRE 2019. We performed an experiment, and we found general agreement with Choi’s result, that the DSF decays much more slowly than assumed by theories.
