“Spray Geometry and Projective Connections” by Mr. Samuel Brensinger, Department of Mathematics, The University of Iowa

Abstract:  Connections are fundamental objects in the study of differential geometry. In this talk, we begin with a review of some basic concepts from differential geometry, including geodesics on manifolds. This will be followed by an overview of sprays, which are vector fields on the tangent bundle of a manifold. After relating these concepts, we will be ready to discuss projective connections on manifolds,  and their possible applications to physics.
