“Mass Renormalization and Particle Decay in Point-Form Quantum Theory” by Professor William Klink, Department of Physics & Astronomy, The University of Iowa
Abstract: Mass operators for constituent quark models give good fits to the hadron spectrum. However, a shortcoming is that excited states are stable. In this talk I show how to generalize mass operators to take into account the decay of excited states. To do this I review those features of point form relativistic quantum theory that are needed for the analysis of mass operators.
