TRG/HOTRG Methods: A Tutorial

Michael Hite; University of Iowa

Abstract: Coarse graining methods have allowed us approximate many thermodynamic observables of gauge models. We discuss the theory and implementation of two methods in particular: Tensor Renormalization Group (TRG) and Higher-Order TRG (HOTRG). They will be applied to a 2D Ising model with only nearest neighbor interactions. We will look at observables such as the partition function, Fisher Zeroâs, etc. for many different field configurations.
